The CNC sound-absorbing panel cutting machine can perform cutting, grooving, punching and other processing on polyester fiber sound-absorbing panels. Now, I will introduce you to the working process of our PET felt cutting machine so that you can understand our equipment in more detail.
1. Material preparation
Prepare PET felt sound-absorbing panels of appropriate thickness according to construction requirements or design requirements. Common polyester fiber sound-absorbing panels are 9 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm, 20 mm and 24 mm thick. There are also some low-density polyester fiber sound-absorbing panels with a thickness of about 50 mm. Different thicknesses of sound-absorbing panels may use different cutting tools. Therefore, you need to know the material thickness in advance. Our sound-absorbing panel cutting machine can be installed with two types of cutting knives: pneumatic knives and vibration knives.
Electric cutting tools
Electric cutting tools are powered by motors and are used to cut PET felt with a thickness of less than 15 mm. Cutting thicker PET felt is prone to damage the blade or even fail to cut.
Electric cutting tools usually use blades with a thickness of 0.63 mm.
Pneumatic cutting
Pneumatic cutting tools use high-pressure air as power and are suitable for sound-absorbing panels with a thickness of more than 15 mm. Thinner sound-absorbing panels can also be cut, but the cutting speed is slower than that of electric cutting tools.
Pneumatic cutting tools cut thicker materials, have greater cutting resistance, and have longer blades. In order to ensure the service life of the blade, a blade with a thickness of 1 mm or 1.5 mm is usually selected.
2. CAD drawing preparation
Our PET felt cutting machine is a CNC cutting machine and requires CAD drawings.
If the construction party does not provide CAD drawings, we need to design the CAD drawings ourselves. We can use design software such as AutoCAD, Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, etc. for design.
3. Blade selection
Mainly check whether there is an arc less than 5mm in the drawing. There are many types of vibrating blades. For small arcs, you can choose a blade with a smaller width.
Ordinary blades
Ordinary blades can meet most cutting needs.
Straight blades
The straight blade has a smaller width of about 2.5 mm. When cutting small-sized arcs, the shape specifications can be guaranteed not to be deformed.
However, due to the smaller width of the blade, its rigidity is smaller than that of an ordinary blade. The cutting speed is slower than that of an ordinary blade. The service life of a straight blade is shorter than that of an ordinary blade. The price of a straight blade is also more expensive than that of an ordinary blade.
4. Tool installation
According to the construction party or drawing process requirements, confirm the tools required for this processing process. The processing of sound-absorbing panels mainly includes cutting, grooving and punching. Therefore, it is necessary to check the processing requirements on the drawings and confirm the tools required for subsequent installation and adjustment.
After confirming the tools to be used, please install and adjust the tools correctly.
Note: The blade is very sharp, be careful not to hurt your hands.
5. Parameter setting
The cutting speed of the cutter is about 200mm/s. The speed will vary depending on the thickness and density of the material. You can test it with a small piece of material first, and then set the appropriate cutting speed without damaging the blade and the cutting edge is clean and smooth. The cutting speed of the V-grooving knife is about 500mm/s. The cutting speed of the grooving knife is related to the grooving depth. The deeper the grooving depth, the lower the speed should be.
6. CAD drawing settings
Import the CAD drawing into the sound-absorbing board cutting machine software.
In the machine software, the CAD drawing lines are confirmed by numbering colors to confirm which tool is used for processing. Please make sure that the numbering color of the lines in the machine software is correct.
7. Loading
Place the polyester fiberboard on the workbench of the PET felt cutting machine, make sure the board surface is within the working range of the machine, and try to ensure that the material is not skewed.
If the PET felt is small in size, you can manually turn on the vacuum pump to confirm whether the material can be fixed on the workbench. If it cannot be fixed, please cover some materials around to increase the adsorption force.
8. Positioning the cutting position
Our sound-absorbing board cutting machine is equipped with a red light positioning device to indicate the outermost position of the cutting. The red light should be within the material range, but in order to save materials, the distance between the red light and the edge of the material cannot be too large, generally requiring 5mm-10mm.
9. Start cutting

1. Power off. First turn off the power of the acoustic panel cutting machine. Then turn off the power of the machine.
